Review: Lego Star Wars 75013 Umbaran MHC (Mobile Heavy Cannon)
This is the biggest set (in terms of parts count) in the first wave of 2013 SW sets. The "actual" vehicle appeared in the "Clone Wars" cartoon series.
Although not appearing in the movies, I think this may become an iconic SW set.
Name: Umbaran MHC (Mobile Heavy Cannon)
Set Number: 75013
Pieces: 493
Price: $109.90
Minifigs: 4
Theme: Star Wars
Year of Release: 2013
Front of box
The box front shows the 2013 theme for SW sets with a green band on top and Yoda at top right corner.
The Figs
At the bottom right of the front box and side of box shows the four minifigs included:
Ashoka Tano
212th Clone Trooper
Umbarans soldiers x 2
Back of box
The back of box shows the several play features of the MHC: opening front and back panels, cannon that can both rotate and elevate.
The Contents
Opening the box, you will find the parts separated in 3 numbered bags, one instruction booklet and one sticker sheet.
The Manual
The manual is just one booklet. The first page shows what each bag will build:
Bag 1: Minifigs and main body
Bag 2: 6 legs
Bag 3: 6 feet and the cannon
And the usual parts list at the last few pages.
Building
Bag 1
Bag 1 starts with the minifigs
Ashoka Tano
The fig comes with a double printed head: one side with happy expression, the opposite side is angry expression.
212 Clone Trooper
The clone trooper’s head is printed even though the face is completely covered by the helmet. I would prefer Rex as he also appeared in the episode of “Battle of Umbara” which the MHC appeared in.
Umbara Soliders
Both look the same although I don’t think they are clones in the cartoon
Weapons:
Too bad the light sabre handle is not chrome like it was long time ago.
MHC body
Rest of bag 1 builds the MHC body
The front headlights which are new parts I believe
Bottom side has two rifles attached.
Front "bulb" window attached
With the back panel attached, bag 1 is completed
Bag 2:
The side panels attached with stickers. There is difference between left and right side panels, remember the blue triangular "eyes" of the sticker should be facing front.
First stage of leg
Second stage and the “drumstick” is completed
Now repeat 5 more times, attached to body and bag 2 is completed
Bag 3:
Bag 3 starts with the "feet" of the MHC, repeated 6 times
The final steps are the building of the cannon and the MHC is completed, yea!
Conclusions:
Plus points: many new parts and great design, the six legs are very sturdy
Minus points: stickers as usual, mainly because of alignment and may peel off in future.
Major design fault: the pilot can hardly see out of the cockpit
The Ratings
Value: 4/10 - As usual SW sets are way over priced locally when compare to US RRP
Design: 8/10 - Except for the small cockpit window, I find it rather good
Minifigs: 6/10 - As mentioned before I would prefer Rex to be included and at least one more Clone Troopers
Playability: 9/10 - Lot of play features, but it would be perfect if it has included some light or sound bricks for effects
Parts: 9/10 - Many new parts, and great colour combination overall
Overall: 7.2/10 - Worth buying during sales

Nice review! I built this set too, to allow the pilot to see thru the cockpit, u can modify the cockpit and remove the 2 pc of 1x3 tiles, this will allow the pilot to be seated lower and let him see outside.
